Ramsey, Frank (Plumpton)
Philosopher and mathematician, born in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EC England, UK. He read mathematics at Cambridge, and went on to be elected fellow of King's College when he was only 21. In his tragically short life (he died after an operation) he made outstanding contributions to philosophy, logic, mathematics, and economics, to an extent which was only properly recognized years after his death. The best of his work is collected in Philosophical Papers (edited by D H Mellor, 1990).
