## What is Viscosity?

On the other hand, viscosity is a property of fluids as well as liquids and gases. It is present in fluids and gases due to the cohesive forces between molecules.

When the cohesive forces are very strong then the viscosity of the fluid is very high and its flow rate is very low. While dynamic viscosity measures the resistance to flow under applied shear stress and kinematic viscosity considers the ratio of dynamic viscosity to the fluid's density.
