## Square Footage Calculator

Square Footage Calculator is an online tool used to find an area of a square, rectangle, circle, or ellipse in a foot. It also helps to find the total cost apply to construct or build any infrastructure on the total area of the shape.

## What is a square?

A square is a four-sided polygon with few unique properties. It is a special type of rectangle, with the additional characteristic that all four sides are of equal length and all four angles are right angles (90 degrees).

### The formula of the area of different shapes

Area of a Square = (Length)2

Area of the Rectangle = Length x Width

Area of the Circle = π x r2

Area of ellipse = π (a x b)

Note:

(π = 22/7 or 3.14)

## Methodology to evaluate the area of a Square

In this section, we solve some examples to find the area of the shape by using a formula according to the given shape.

Example 1:

Calculate the area of the square and the total cost value for the total square foot, if the length of one side is 20ft and also the price per square foot is 23 \$.

Solution:

Step 1:

Write the data carefully from the above question.

Side Length = 20, area of a square =?

Step 2:

Write the formula of the area of a square and the total cost.

Area of Square = (Side Length)2

Total Cost = total area x cost for per square ft

Step 3:

Put the values carefully in the above formula and simplify.

Area of Square = (Side Length)2

= (20)2

= (20) x (20)

Area of Square = 400 ft2

Total Cost = total area x cost for per square ft

= 400 x 23

Total Cost = 9200 \$

Example 2:

Calculate the area of the circle and the total cost value for the total square foot, if the radius of the circle is 20ft and also the price per square foot is 29 \$.

Solution:

Step 1:

Write the data carefully from the above question.

Radius = 20, area of circle =?

Step 2:

Write the formula of the area of a circle and the total cost.

Area of the Circle = π x r2

Total Cost = total area x cost for per square ft

Step 3:

Put the values carefully in the above formula and simplify.

Area of the Circle = π x r2

= 3.14 x (20)2

= 3.14 x (20) x (20)

Area of Circle = 1256.6 ft2

Total Cost = total area x cost for per square ft

= 1256.6 x 29

Total Cost = 36441.4 \$
